Dr Trish Chudleigh

Lead Sonographer, Rosie Hospital, Cambridge and Education Consultant for the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Trish graduated from Liverpool university with a zoology degree and began her career in ultrasound as a medical physics technician before joining King’s College London as part of Stuart Campbell’s research team.  She was awarded a PhD by the faculty of Medicine at King’s College London in 2000.


During her career she has inspired many sonographers through both her academic and clinical teaching, most notably by co-authoring the highly regarded book ‘Obstetric Ultrasound – How, why and when’, which is now in its fourth edition and remains a key text for all ultrasound students.  Trish is committed to improving obstetric ultrasound practice and has contributed significantly to the national Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme.  


Since 2006 Trish has worked as Lead Sonographer at Rosie Hospital, Cambridge where she has continued to promote excellence in ultrasound. She now combines this with that of Education Consultant to the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG).


Trish remains an active member of BMUS, she has given numerous presentations at society meetings and is a regular contributor to the BMUS journal.
