WEBINAR: Physics FRCR Part 1 Revision 2025

5th Mar 2025

This free, half-day BMUS workshop, led by two experienced clinical scientists, Dr Barry Ward and Dr Sian Curtis, is intended to reinforce candidates’ existing knowledge of ultrasound physics in preparation for the upcoming FRCR physics examination. Attendance from all other Healthcare Professionals wishing to enhance their knowledge of the physics of ultrasound is welcome.

During the workshop the three main subject areas in the ultrasound part of the physics curriculum:

  • Basic physics
  • Imaging
  • Ultrasound safety

These subject areas will be discussed in detail, with particular emphasis on transducers, B-mode, colour Doppler, PW Doppler, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, and the safety indices.

Registered attendees are strongly encouraged to submit questions and topics for discussion in the weeks leading up the event (email courtney@bmus.org) – as well as interactively on the day – allowing the two clinical scientists to tailor the online teaching to the attendees’ specific requirements. In addition to trainee radiologists, the event is likely to be useful to a range of other clinical users of the modality, including sonographers, vascular scientists and trainee obstetricians.
