Statement on Obstetric Ultrasound

We wish to reassure our members that we are fully aware of the extremely challenging situation that is fast developing around performing routine obstetric scans.  It is known that sonographers performing obstetric scans have been under considerable pressure for some years and that the Covid-19 pandemic has served only to exacerbate an already difficult situation.  We wish to inform our members that we are working hard to resolve issues and find solutions that keep both healthcare professionals and patients safe. 

BMUS wishes to thank every obstetric sonographer member for their continued professionalism and high standard of service to the public.  We look forward to offering updates as soon as possible but in the meantime, we are here for you and are most certainly aware of our responsibilities to you as valued members.
