BMUS & Giftaid

Are you signed up to Gift Aid with BMUS?  Approximately 50% of our current UK membership haven’t signed up to Gift Aid with BMUS and we would really like to encourage you to do so.

Gift Aid is a scheme that lets UK taxpayers supercharge their charity donations (i.e. your member subscription) without any further cost to you. When you say 'yes' to Gift Aid when joining as a BMUS member, it means BMUS can claim a further £24.11* from HMRC. For small charities like BMUS this additional income can really make a big difference and helps contribute to keeping the society’s running costs as low as possible, and giving you the best possible educational and training opportunities we can offer.

The are a few instances where BMUS can’t claim Gift Aid on your subscription

• If you do not pay the subscription yourself (i.e. it is paid by your employer)
• You claim the tax relief on your subscription on your tax self-assessment form
• You are not a UK taxpayer

But in all other instances it can claim on your behalf, so why not sign up today!  If you are unsure if you are already signed up or are eligible for Gift Aid, then please check with Tracey and she can support you.
