Transvaginal Ultrasound Examinations – Guidance for Practitioners
Transvaginal Ultrasound Examinations – Guidance for Practitioners
BMUS has developed new guidance for practitioners performing transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS) examinations. The purpose of our guidance is to identify who is eligible to be offered TVUS, to identify those ineligible, to eliminate discrimination and maximise equality in ultrasound service delivery, to optimise patient care and provide advice for ultrasound practitioners regarding TVUS, governance and safety.
It is anticipated that this document will provide a helpful framework for educators, service providers and ultrasound practitioners to apply locally.
